StormSens.AI (pronounced Storm Sensei) is a mobile web application that provides real-time weather data, lightning detection information, and AI-generated safety assessments to help golfers and outdoor sports participants make informed decisions about weather conditions.
The app combines data from third-party sources including the National Weather Service, Vaisala Xweather lightning detection, and NEXRAD radar. It uses artificial intelligence to interpret this data and provide safety recommendations.
StormSens.AI is offered by StormSens.AI LLC.
StormSens.AI is NOT a certified emergency alert system, a meteorological service, or a substitute for official weather warnings. It is a supplemental information tool only.
The app depends on third-party data sources that may be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable. Lightning detection coverage has geographic and temporal limitations. AI-generated assessments may be incorrect.
By using StormSens.AI, you acknowledge that:
You are solely responsible for your safety decisions. No alert, recommendation, or "all clear" from this app relieves you of the responsibility to use your own judgment about weather conditions. If you see lightning, hear thunder, or feel unsafe for any reason, seek shelter immediately regardless of what the app says.
The 30-30 rule still applies: if the time between a lightning flash and thunder is 30 seconds or less, you should already be inside. Wait 30 minutes after the last thunder before resuming outdoor activity.
Weather is impossible to predict with 100% accuracy. We rely on data obtained from many sources, none of which can guarantee completeness, timeliness or accuracy. StormSens.AI is designed to provide you information so you can make a better judgment about whether to take shelter, but that decision is entirely yours. StormSens.AI cannot guarantee alerts are accurate or timely.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORMSENS.AI LLC, ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, SPONSORS, AND DATA PROVIDERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THIS APPLICATION.
This includes but is not limited to: missed alerts due to data delays or service outages, incorrect AI assessments, GPS inaccuracies, network connectivity failures, Xweather API quota or other data exhaustion, or any other technical limitation of the service.
YOUR USE OF THIS APP IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
By default, we only collect what's needed to provide the service. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifying information unless you explicitly consent to receive offers from an event sponsor, in which case your name and email are collected solely for that purpose. We do not sell data. Ever.
StormSens.AI may be made available for free during certain events. To continue using StormSens.AI after that event at no charge, you may consent to receive offers from our event sponsor. This is entirely optional — you may alternatively subscribe for the then current fee. Your consent covers name and email only. Location and safety data are never shared.

Weather data, lightning detection, and radar imagery are provided by third parties including the National Weather Service (NWS), Vaisala Xweather, and Iowa State University's IEM NEXRAD archive. Availability and accuracy of this data is subject to those services' own limitations. StormSens.AI LLC is not responsible for the accuracy or availability of third-party data.
Safety assessments are generated by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic. AI-generated content may contain errors. Do not treat any AI-generated safety assessment as a definitive determination of safe conditions.
StormSens.AI may be presented in partnership with a sponsor. Sponsors do not in any way control the safety assessments, alert thresholds, or data sources used by the app. Sponsor branding does not constitute an endorsement of safety conditions by the sponsor.
Where you have provided explicit consent as described in Section 5 and our Privacy Policy, your name and email may be shared with the named event sponsor. This sharing occurs only upon your affirmative consent and is limited to name and email. Location data, safety alert history, and all other usage data are never shared with sponsors.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
